Kerry's page

Kerry tells her own story about her life.  She is a lively girl with lots of the same interests as girls of her age but she also tells of the differences.

All about myself

My name is Kerry Murch, and I live in Liverpool.  I was adopted by the Murch family and came to live with them when I was 7 months old.  I was adopted because my other Mum drank beer and she damaged my brain and it's hard to learn things in school like Maths and history and English.

I am 12 now and I go to Meadowbank Special School in Fazakerley, Liverpool.  I get picked up on the bus every day with my friends Richard and Andre who are in Primary school and their class is next door to mine, my class is 7A.  School is fun everyday because of my teacher Miss Parsons and our assistant Lindsay.  My assistant helps me if I get stuck in my work sometimes.

I have hazel eyes and brown curly hair cut nice and short.  What I like doing is going to LIPA with my niece Amy, she is 9 years old.  LIPA is the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, which is where our drama club is every Wednesday and Sunday.  My Mummy takes us, I really like going to my drama club, it's fun, we do plays and each have a part to play.  I'm being Sid Glitz in our new play, he's a game show host.

Three years ago my Mum and Dad bought me a dog, her name is Chloe and I love her very much, she is my pride and joy.  My other pets are a rabbit called Roger, he's eight years old, and he's really a girl, but we didn't know when we got him and I've got a hamster called Jasmine who is really cute.

My favourite singers are Five and Westlife, I like Westlife the best because I went to see them in concert in April.  I went with my Mum, my sister Jackie (Amy's Mum) and Amy. it was great.  I have got loads of CD's because I like listening to music and singing the songs.  I love reading and I'm trying really hard to read Harry Potter, he's my favourite, I'm going to see the film this month.  I like drawing too, I am good at drawing.  My favourite game is Zoom, we play it in drama.  The other thing I like is going to the theatre, I have seem Snow White, Joseph and the Dreamcoat, Grease and lots of Pantomimes.  I like going on the Internet to play Disney Playhouse it's fun and I like playing games on my computer Stuart Little is my favourite game.  When I was a baby I loved playing with my toys even if I was disabled, I think some people think you can't play with toys if you are disabled but you can.

I will tell you about my Mum and Dad, my Mum runs a trust to help people with FAS, the same as me.  I do everything with my Mum, she takes me to all the things I do.  My Dad just watches football with my brother Robbie.

There are 12 of us in our family, there is me, my Mum and Dad , my brother Robbie, my sister Jackie and her husband Rick and their children Thomas and Amy.  Then there is my sister Joanne and her husband Steven and their children Scott and Liam.  My sisters live in their own houses but my brother lives at home with us.  I have got two birth sisters called Carla and Sammie they live with their new Mums and Dads too.

When I was a baby I started going to Alderhey Hospital Because I got FAS the same as my birth sisters.  When I was a baby I had an operation to fix my eyes, and the doctors and nurses helped my squint to stay better.  The doctors and nurses are really nice, I see lots of them all the time, my favourite is Steve Ryan and he knows me since I was a baby.  My favourite nurse is Gwen she used to give me needles in my tummy I didn't like them, they hurt me.  I see Dr Davidson because my knees and feet and wrists hurt sometimes, she is nice and helped me to get my wheelchair so I can go out when they are sore.

This is the end of my story about me.

Yours Truly

Kerry
