Project Team: Prof. Norma Daykin (lead), Joanna Espiner; Lizzy-Jane Grose; Sue Mayfield; Justin Fellows; Shiobhan Law (Willis Newson Arts Consultants).

Duration: December 2007-March 2008

This project is a reflective process evaluation of the Arts at Callington Rd Project. This project involves four artists (a musician, a words based artist and a visual artist along with an overall reflective artist) in a programme of participatory workshops for service users in a mental health setting. The methodology is that of co-enquiry and the evaluation seeks to draw on artists’ experiences in order to support the development of their practice. It also seeks to explore the possible incorporation of arts processes into project evaluation.

The project runs in parallel with a more formal evaluation process that uses ethnographic methods to examine the role of arts activity in supporting and encouraging participation.
