This type covers a broad range of different medical conditions such as, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, M.E so it is important to obtain information on the individual. Do not however assume that each person will have the same symptoms if they have the same condition.
The following are some guidance points when interacting with another student with a “hidden” impairment (if known):
• Additional fatigue is likely to be caused by the lengthy contact time
• The day-to-day effects of medication may be detrimental
• Proximity to noises or atmospheric pollution can create difficulties
