Welcome to your transition programme.
This is only relevent to September 08 students doing Transitional Workshops within ANP year 3.
This two day programme starts at 9.30 in 1H16 on Tuesday 10th of May and Wednesday 11th May 2011, where you will be introduced to the programme and have a morning interactive lecture. You then have the opportunity to sign up for three workshops on day one and three workshops on day two. (The assertiveness and mental health sessions will take a full pm, therefore if you wish to attend this session you will only be able to attend 2 workshops that day). Please be aware that some sessions are only available for one or two workshops.
The aim of these workshops are:
- to revise your knowledge
- to work through problem solving activities
- for the student to gain confidence in their understanding in this area
- for the student to identify their future learning needs within this area
Transition is a period of time given to you to absorb and consolidate your knowledge base. During the past 3 years of study and learning, you have been assessed and directed by the NMC guidelines. Therefore, it is important that you have the ability to identify your individual needs, thus preparing you for registration. This opportunity will give you the time to deepen your understanding of the policies and procedures that affect the care delivery strategies of an organisation. Giving you the space to make the connections between policy, evidence and clinical practice.
Timings of workshops:
| Workshop 1 |
Workshop 2 |
Workshop 3 |
| 11.30 – 12.40 |
13.25 – 14.40 |
14.45 – 16.00 |
Unfortunately the workshops will not be in any one area, therefore you have been given 5 minutes to walk between sessions, please try and help us to keep the day time bound, and please do not change your workshop order after sign up is completed, group sizes are important to ensure that you have the opportunity to work through the session. The days will close at 4pm.
You will receive an evaluation form at your first workshop, evaluation is key in helping us to identify needs and to deliver quality, please could you help me with this by completing your evaluation form and handing it into your last workshop facilitator on receipt of this you will be given a certificate of attendance. This certificate has questions on the back, giving you the opportunity to expand your learning further, developing the process of giving structure and evidence to your study time.
We hope that you enjoy the days and gain skills and knowledge to support you further in practice.
Buses have been arranged for Hartpury students leaving at 8.15am and returning at 4.15pm.
