Therapeutic radiographers play a vital role in the treatment of cancer as the only health professionals qualified to plan and deliver radiotherapy.  Radiotherapy radiographers deliver doses of X-rays and other ionising radiation to patients, most of whom are suffering from various forms of cancer. 

Qualified Radiotherapy Radiographers are highly sort after in the health service and it is a profession that is at the forefront of technological development.

State of the Art Learning Facilities

UWE is superbly equipped with an extensive range of teaching and learning resources.

A revoluntionary new virtual linear accelerator (VERT) has just been installed at Glenside Campus, Bristol.  VERT is the latest technology to help student Radiotherapy Radiographers learn to safely deliver doses of radiotherapy to tumours.  Other facilities include workstations for radiotherapy planning and virtual treatment simulation.  Watch the video which shows VERT being used!
